501 viewsHere are two Charlie Patton ads I found in Cedarburg in 2000. These were the first full-body illustrations of Patton to be found. One was used by the Boerner Company from Port Washington to release his 1934 recordings. Paramount by then was defunct. However Fred Boerner kept on using old Paramount newspaper clippings for his mailing lists and advertised new records with Paramount ads. Two years after finding these, John Tefteller found the original Patton photo.

497 viewsI found this today in the Davenport Democratic and Leader newspaper (Iowa) of March 1924. By then Oliver had recorded in Marsh Recording Laboratories in Chicago for Paramount in December 1923, but these are not listed, opposed to Gennett, Okeh and Columbia.

Holy Ground478 views"For me the experience of visiting the site of the Grafton plant was tantamount to walking on holy ground. Although I am not a religious man, I can only compare it to the thrill felt by the faithful on visiting Jerusalem. If you are a blues aficionado considering a visit to Grafton, don't hesitate-just do it! Make your dream come true." --Alex van der Tuuk
